April

Misty at first, then sunny spells, 16º, virtually no wind.

Another visit to Lollingdon hill today found a single Wheatear on the south face of the hill, presumably a new arrival and 11 Meadow Pipit in the vicinity, 3 Corn Bunting in song and several Skylark

18 Fieldfare and 3 Redwing flew over, 2 Song Thrush on the north side and a Mistle Thrush in song, also 5 Chiffchaff noted.

A little Owl seen and heard to the north east of the hill.

Several butterflies noted today with Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell frequent, a few Brimstone and my first Orange Tip of the year in the garden.

2 Great-spotted Woodpecker, Chiffchaff, Coal Tit, Treecreeper and Goldcrest in the garden today and 2 Tawny Owls this evening.
