Still arriving



Sunny spells, 14º, light N.

Reed Warbler new for the year at Cholsey marsh this morning and 5 singing Sedge Warbler along with several Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Reed Bunting, also 2 Bullfinch and a Kestrel seen.

2 Great-crested Grebe seen on the river and a Kingfisher heard.

Lollingdon hill later with a single Buzzard present, 8 Wheatear, (14 noted at 07:30 this morning by Tony W), 2 Mistle Thrush and a Blackbird on the south face.

A Lesser Whitethroat singing in the hedgerow at the western end and 4 Blackcap nearby all in close proximity to each other! Suggesting recently arrived?

6 Swallow overhead and a Peregrine Falcon and a Red Kite high overhead sparring with each other. 

No Gulls seen locally for around a week now.

A Grey Heron, 2 Starling, 5 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 4 Corn Bunting, 8 Yellowhammer, 6 Stock Dove all noted along with other commoner species.

Orange Tip, Brimstone, Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell butterflies all noted.
