Wet 'n' Windy

Windy ‘n’ Wet today, a brisk wind from the SSW and drizzly rain, 13º.

Back on the hill today for a couple of hours, the south face of the hill was exposed to the wind and rain and there was not a lot present however when the rain stopped for a short time a couple of Buzzard and Red Kite appeared overhead.

The north side was a little more sheltered but still quiet with a couple of Blackbird and a Song Thrush and 8 Yellowhammer feeding in the recently ploughed fields nearby.

2 Goldcrest near the Manor house and 7 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing and 1 Starling feeding in one of the meadows near the horse paddock.

2 Pied Wagtail in another of the paddocks, 2 Mistle Thrush present nearby with one in song also Great-spotted Woodpecker, Green Woodpecker, 4 Chiffchaff and 2 Blackcap noted.

3 Corn Bunting present along with 6+ Skylark and 3 Meadow Pipit flew over.

2 Swallows over Cholsey hill this evening (per Gerry Quinn).

A Muntjac Deer seen.

A Chiffchaff and a Blackcap heard singing in the meadow this morning, the Sparrowhawk is making daily sorties in to the garden lately and so far only a Wood Pigeon taken, yesterday she was chased off by the 2 resident Crows.
