Allsorts

Cloudy with sunny spells, 18°, light W.

A walk out to the Lees and beyond today in sunny conditions and good numbers of Butterflies and Damselflies around.

Buzzard, Red Kite, Grey Heron, Skylark, Yellow Wagtail, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Blackcap, Common Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler and Chiffchaff present.

Dragonflies: Large Red Damselfly, Azure Damselfly, Blue-tailed Damselfly, Common Blue Damselfly & Brown Hawker.

Butterflies: Large Skipper, Large White, Small White, Red Admiral, 100+ Small Tortoiseshell (feeding on thistle flowers & Red Clover), Marbled White, Speckled Wood, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown & Ringlet.

Up to 4 Hedgehogs frequenting the garden recently.

The Crows in the meadow have fledged 1 youngster again and are busy watching over him/her.

The pair of House Martin still busy feeding young nearby and a pair of Swallow feeding young in a neighbour’s garage.

Both Hobby and Sparrowhawk over the garden today.

A Scarlet Tiger Moth seen in the garden today.

The “hybrid” Marsh Orchid is in flower again this year, not able to identify specifically but have been informed it is a hybrid?
